Our History

Juliana began volunteering for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in the early 1990's. In 2003, her mother, Barbara, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Beats for Boobs was created as an additional fundraising effort with friend, Radhika Ragsdale, who shared the same passion for the cause.

That effort, along with their Race for the Cure team, "Barbie and the Boob Brigade", raised a donation of $4400. Just two years later, B4B held a full-fledged fundraiser in tandem with the Komen Race, collectively raising more than $9000 in 2005 and just under $12,000 in 2006. In 2007, Beats for Boobs raised close to $15,000 and the 2008 event, scheduled for October aims to raise $20,000. The money will focus on awareness — community, individual, and preventative.
